The Chargers are tied for 26th place in the league in scoring offense at 18.2 points per game and sit 28th in total offense at 281 yards per game during Jim Harbaugh’s first season as their head coach. The good news for the Chargers is the fact that they are going against one of the worst defenses in the league, which is a chance they should not miss. The Arizona Cardinals are tied for 27th place in the league in scoring defense by allowing 27.2 points per game. They have allowed 34 or more points on three occasions this season and are coming off a 34-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers in the last one. Things will not get any easier for the Cardinals after rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. sustained a concussion and was taken out of the game last week. He will remain in concussion protocol, and his availability will be determined on game day. Harrison was selected with the fourth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and has 17 catches for team highs of 279 yards and four touchdowns. Lineman Kelvin Beachum, defensive lineman Darius Robinson, and inside linebacker Owen Pappoe are already out for Arizona. The Chargers have similar problems, as rusher Joey Bosa, cornerbacks Kristian Fulton and Deane Leonard, Hayden Hurst, and wideout Quentin Johnston are all questionable for Monday’s game. However, the Chargers are still in a better position than the Cardinals. Herbert has a lot to prove this season, and this may be the game he can shut a lot of mounts with.
