It’s been a while since any of these teams have been considered a real contender but it seems that it is time to label them as one. Both teams are playing well lately, and either of them can win this game.

For the second time this season, the Green Bay Packers have responded with back-to-back wins following a loss. Matt LaFleur’s team is coming off the largest win of the season, 34-13 against the Arizona Cardinals. Jordan Love had a small setback with an injury in the season opener, but that is in the past as he is playing better than ever. The four-year quarterback is now second in the league with 12 touchdown passes after throwing for four against the Cardinals. Love was 22 of 32, completing throws to nine players for a total of 258 yards with one interception. Probably the happiest among them was Romeo Doubs, who caught two passes after serving a one-game suspension for what the Green Bay Packers described as conduct detrimental to the team. The Packers are now third in the NFC North with a 4-2 record.
Houston Texans Stats & Form
If you are not used to seeing the Houston Texans among the best teams in the league, better be since these guys are for real. The Texans have won the last three games and are now 5-1 for the season, sitting on top of the AFC South. The Texans are coming off a 41-21 win over the New England Patriots. Houston had never won on the road in New England and started furious, taking a 14-0 early lead in the opening quarter. This was the first time for CJ Stroud to finish under 200 yards this season, and his 192 were more than enough. Last season’s NFL Rookie of the Year was 20 of 31 for the game and had a 100.5 QB rating. Joe Mixon was back in action after missing the previous three games, rushing for 102 yards and catching one touchdown pass from Stroud.

CJ Stroud won the Rookie of the Year award last season and, more importantly, made the Houston Texans a respectable team. He passed for three touchdowns, including one to Joe Mixon, who rushed for 102 yards and a TD in last week’s win over the New England Patriots. Stroud has 10 touchdown tosses against four interceptions this season to go with a 68.3 percent completion rate, but wide receiver Tank Dell still lacks consistency, and that is one of the biggest problems for the Texans. Besides that, Mixon and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil were limited in practice for Houston this week and are questionable for Sunday’s game. Another problem for the Texans is Mario Edwards Jr.’s suspension for four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, but Denico Autry is set to return from a six-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing drugs. On the other side, the Green Bay Packers look ready for the challenge after Jordan Love matched his career best of four touchdown passes in last week’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. Green Bay’s defense is on top of the NFL with a plus-9 turnover differential. Safety Xavier McKinney leads the league with five interceptions. For the Packers, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins and defensive linemen Colby Wooden and Devonte Wyatt are out for this game. The Packers made a change in the kickers position after rookie Brayden Narveson missed 5 of 17 field-goal attempts this season and signed veteran Brandon McManus. Taking everything into consideration, this game can easily go either way. Therefore, we are backing up the Texans with a +3.5-point handicap.
