PUBG Mobile Introduces Esports-Focused In-Game Ranked System

Share

PUBG Mobile has unveiled a new in-game ranked system called Ultimate Royale, which will use the same rules as professional competitions. Players will compete across five skill-based tiers, with the top 500 players at the end of each season getting an opportunity to try out for a professional team. The new system aims to give players a chance to “rub shoulders with some of the world’s top players.”

The Ultimate Royale playlist will open on November 10th, 2024, and will be available every two weeks after the start of each “Classic Season.” The ranked mode is open to players who have reached the “Crown Tier” in the current or previous season, and it offers a range of in-game rewards alongside the esports-focused competition.

Esports Growth and Opportunities for Players

PUBG Mobile’s esports scene has grown significantly in 2024. In April, the first PUBG Mobile Global Open drew over half a million viewers, and in September, the game entered into a partnership with UK-based esports organization Guild Esports.

Offering amateur players a pathway to professional esports through in-game playlists is a growing trend. In November 2023, Riot Games launched Premier, an in-game qualification system for the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT).

With 30 million daily users, according to Business of Apps, PUBG Mobile’s large player base and impressive viewership numbers make the introduction of Ultimate Royale a promising opportunity for cultivating talent at the highest level of competition.
